this one looked so impressive to me as a thumbnail i was hoping for a little bit more when i opened it. it would be really nice if all of one thing was focused. like the whole shoe. or all the water, preferably both but i know how hard that really is to accomplish. i like your idea, the crop is close that from a personal stand point it makes me nervous for your cameras safety. lol ;) i hope you didnt get it wet! liek the composition too. nice idea |

Greetings from the Critique Club:
A great idea quite well executed. Certainly fits the challenge beautifully.
Frequently center-oriented composition doesn't work well, but I think this does. It would work even better if the shoe, especially, was dead-on sharp. If you had been able to make any part of the splash sharp, it would have been very helpful.
I don't know how you did this, but a tripod, longish lens, time-release and patience could give you a terrific outcome. I see you used a 4.5 aperture at 1/30th. It could be that a deeper depth of field, 5.6 or 6.3 would be helpful. But then you'd have to find a puddle in better light, which may not have been available.
Still, it's a great idea, and you scored fairly well for this very good image.

this is a very good photo, I could see Timberland using it in an advertisement, but I think a greater depth of field would improve it, so that more of the splashing water was in focus |

Like this a lot, would have preferred the focus to be slightly closer to the toe but it is still a great capture. Well done |

Almost an advertisement photo. The focus leaves something to be desired. |

Image is out of focus. Also I would have liked to see more of the boot in the frame. |

Wow...where did u have to put the camera in order to take this shot..and how did it not get wet?? I like how the shoe is pretty much in focus, i would have sharpened it a bit more. I also like how the water going off to the side is blurred...really gives off the sense that the water is moving. |

And I thought we saw all the splash shots in Dairy Challenge. Well, hey... stick with a winner! Actually, I do like the idea here. |

I like the shot. I think more depth of field would give this image more impact. |

Nice idea but not really an outcome I am liking too much. I am assuming you were trying to capture the splash of the boot. In that case I would like to see more DOF with all of the droplets in focus cause IMHO this just looks messy. Nice try though but only a 5 from me as it is. |
