I took this photo just a few hours before the deadline. Not sure how it will turn out. I added some saturation to the colors individually. There were a few twigs that looked distracting below so I used the clone tool to make them less obvious. I then used unsharp mask and resized it.

The composition of htis hsiot is perhaps the strongetst area. Thogh the "circle" is in the cneter, teh pipe leasds up adn away whcih gives it a slight feeling of mtion in the shot.

Let me correct that sentence. I meant to do it before I posted, and forgot. >(

The composition of this shot is perhaps the strongest area. Though the "circle" is in the center, the pipe leads up and away which gives it a slight feeling of motion in the shot . . .

The composition of htis hsiot is perhaps the strongetst area. Thogh the "circle" is in the cneter, teh pipe leasds up adn away whcih gives it a slight feeling of mtion in the shot. That said, it might have been helpful to try to have a more interesting perspective of the shot -- maybe by getting lower, or getting further to the right so that you see more of it on the side, and not so much "through" it. Also, it is cropped a bit tightly on the left and bottom giving it an uncomfortable feeling. If you wanted a tighter crop, I would almost recommend going on "into" the pipe and cutting the left side and bottom off some. (Please note, though, you will get comments about not seeing the whole subject. ;) )

Technically speaking, I think there are several things that could happen to make this a more compelling image. You don't list your aperture or shutter speed, and I am not totally familiar with your camera, so I am going on the asumption that you can control aperture and shutter values at least a little.

To me, it looks like the picture is out of focus, but it also has the "grain" look that my pictures get when I underexpose them then try to fix it in post-processing (which happens frequently, I might add), or by using a digital zoom or cropping a lot of the original picture away. The way to remedy this is to use as large a aperture value as possible (which means a small aperture) and if you aren't using a tripod, as fast a shutter speed as possible. The small aperture will give you a deeper depth of field and a more focused look. The tripod will hopefully eliminate camera shake.

The colors are a bit much, I think. So the effect is that while you do have dark and light in the picture, the overwhelming sense is "green and orange." I would have saturated less and used more contrast. It might even be worth playing with the color channels and seeing how black and white would look.

It is an interesting take on the challenge, and does meet the challegne, I think. While the subject matter is one of the usual topics, I think it has potential.

Hope this has been at least a little helpful.

Feel free to pm me if I need to further explain or clarify anything.

Nice photo but it seems a little out of focus like your depth of field was too shallow. Great colors.

Meets the challenge but the subject is rather dull IMO. Also looks like you oversaturated the lighted areas.

This looks over processed and out of focus.

The focus is a bit soft. Not too interesting a subject.

The colors are way off on my screen.....like you upped the sat way too much. Your comp and idea are good.

nice try, but the subject matter should be of a little bit more interest. or at least better conceived.

I am troubled by the focus.

Strange colours. There seems to be a lot of colour fringing on this one.

It meets the challenge, but lacks sharpness and might be more interesting in my opinion.

This would have been better in sepia colors

This could use some serious focus as well as less harshness in the lighting. Maybe try a black and white filter. It might work really well for you if it were sharply focused.

A good idea, but maybe time for a camera or lens upgrade. The picture appears slighty out of focus and there is some pretty strong chromatic abberation in a number of places. Colors seem a bit off also. Nice try.
