Thanks to all for the comments. This is only the second time I have attempted a self portrait, and yeah, not too comfortable with that process. :-)
Since several of you asked, setup was a black sheet taped to a white wall. Had a cheap clip light shining on the wall from the right to light that, and another one from the left to the side and slightly in front of where I was kneeling. Camera on a tripod centered on the black/white line. The rest was just touch-up in post (making the white, more white, adjusting the saturation, etc...).

I was expecting to see more of this in this challenge. You really did a very good job on this without being theatrical. Excellent work and good luck! |

I would rotate it so that the line is straight up and down, but other wise good shot |

you look terrified...and face is angled..would rather see face straight on for this type of shot |

good job, i like the alternating dark and light, maybe look straight into the camera, or tilt your head more, to avoid the oquard ear? good job~! |

As a portrait, this would be much stronger if you reacted to the camera's presence somehow; making eye contact with the lens heightens the lack of emotional involvement in the scene. The angle and illumination on the face are misaligned just enough to be distracting. |
