Hello from the Critique Club-
To tell the truth, I thought this submisson was a joke. I suspected that you were trying to get the same stunning photo to place both first and last. So I obliged and gave you a one.
I think just about everything is wrong with this photo, techincally, compositionally and interest wise. I suppose it meets the challenge, though. Do you really want me to tear it apart or do you already know the flaws. Techincal: The picture is tilted, this is my #1 pet peeve because it is so easy to fix. The focus is off, nothing is very sharp. The lighting is terrible. Despite the flash, which is rarely and effective way to light a picture, the lighting is uneven, the top is lighter than the bottom and the whole thing is too dark.
The flash creates a glare on all four sides of the frame. Okay, maybe it is clever to have it shine from the lighthouse, but that does not make a good photo in and of itself.
Let's pretend there is a picture of something else in the frame, anything else. Then the compositon of your shot would be glaringly dull. Smack in the center is about the least interesting of all compositons. The wall, the frame, the matt are all about the same wdth. There are no leading lines, no interesting shapes, tones textures.
Too bad you didn't finish last, that WOULD have been something to brag about. I guess a flower and a cat are worse than a bad photo of a GREAT photo.
Disclaimer: I'm sorry if I missed the point of your submission. Please remember that this is just my opinion and I am not an expert at all. |

Aren't yo giving yourself away with this picture? I'm sure you've already heard that though. Disqualification, or not, that was the incredibbly cold picture I've ever seen. |

Frame should be square to the picture, and glare hurts the overall effect. |

Hey, is that the flash at the top of the lighthouse? Pretty cool... |

cute way to get your lighthouse into the shot. Hate the flash glare off the glass. |

At least we can assumedly know whose shot this is. The DQ was unfortunate, but this picture does nothing for the original. |

Crooked and dark, with a flash reflection. A good idea, but not very well executed, it seems to me. |

That's a way to get it in the challenge, but you won't win, the flash messed it up. |

I think there is too much barrel distortion in the picture. Also you could have shown us the real house and not a paiting. Not very interesting. |

I like the idea, but it might work better with a less harsh and more even flash reflection. |

would one find this photo in the photographer's portfolio? I think I've admired the photo for a while. Available light would reduce the hotspots though. |

thought the glare on the lighthouse picture (caused by your flash) is creative, i do not find the reflection on the wooden photo frame nice. |

I still think that's an awesome photo, but taking a pic of it just isn't quite the same - especially with the glare on the glass. |
