 I imagine there will be comments to the effect that this is less than accomplished because the hand is not in focus. To those new to photography or who have been indoctrinated that the more in focus means the better shot; DOF is a tool of statement for the photographer, just as brightness and composition are tools. Besides adding another plane to this piece, the stressed focus here says that in ballet, while the hand and arm are essential to balance, power and grace, they are subordinate to the feet.

Anyhoo, I like the b&w here, and the OOF hand in the back definitely adds to this shot.
