my wedding shoes, hymn book and wedding/engagement rings. This is my first entry and really just taken as an ice breaker. I have just altered the contrast.

Well my first effort was a complete disaster but the good thing is, I can only get better!!
To be honest I'd been watching the site for ages and finally decided to take the plunge and give it a whirl. I wasn't totally happy with my picture but decided to enter it for experience purposes.
The picture was actually my wedding shoe with the hymn we sang and my wedding rings. Unfortunately it didn't work but I did appreciate all the comments even tho' they were all negative bar 1.
I'm a glutton for punishment so I'll be back :-)

I guess that satin thing is the shoe? Push those whites all the way to white and you've got a much stronger photo

i don't understad the message, perhaps it would be stronger without the shoe.

The shoe disappears in this pic but ought to be stronger for this challenge.

just does not make the boot the focal point, sorry, but makes no sense to me

okay, is your subject the rings, the words on the page or the ? shoe on left lower corner. Not good choice of subject for a shoe challenge to me.

Interesting idea. However, I wish that the boot had been more in focus.

the rings and the verse really detracts from the shoe (which is out of focus)

this to me is a photo about weddings, about a bible and 2 rings about love. If it wasnt a show challenge, i would not have even guessed the ivory object was a shoe.

A little too close; hard to see subject. I wouldn't have been able to tell it was a shoe execpt for the challenge title. You may want to use a little more lighting next time. Just a thought.

Is that a shoe resting on that book of poetry? This may be too deep.... 5.

I would have switched the focal point to the shoe, since it is the object of the contest. Good idea though.
