Lovely shot. Beautiful light and comp.

Hi! I just discovered that you were one of my statistically favorite photographers! Groovy! This marvelous shot is one reason why, I suppose!

lol. I like reading comments. This is a hill isn't it? It doesn't scream "tilted shot" to me, but apparently people like the ground to be straight across all the time even if it isn't that way in reality.
I really like the tones you chose. This is one example of where I think a decision to go duotone really helped the shot, but I'm not sure that I'd think of it normally.
That white area at the top still bothers me. I'd prefer a crop to just below the brightest white areas personally. It was obviously a tough shot to expose, and I thik you did a pretty good job getting the scene exposed well so the sky had to suffer a little.
"Proper photography" guidelines would dictate that the subject always be moving into the frame instead of out of it so that the eye moves around inside the shot and isn't directed away. I actually like this one the way it is though. It goes well with the title. The horse isn't exactly going out somewhere... it is going home so the day and the space are behind it.
Little girls love horses :) I think the subject and softness are very appealing to many people. It just has a nice, happy feel to it while also being calming.
Nice work.

I think the top is a bit overexposed, but it's a great shot - I like the rays coming down, the color of the grass and horse - I wish s/he wasn't headed OUT of the picture, however. 7

ummm. lovely - is he walking down hill or is the whole image tilted? Even if it is a hill in real life, I think it might read better to rotate it a bit, the trees in the background also seem tipped to the left.

nice capture...sun "blow out" may be a little too bright, but overall works well.

Nice mood to this photo. I think that you could have cropped out some of the sky though, and just kept a little around the tops of the trees. The sky is too bright for me.

I'm sure the traditionalists will scratch their herads about this as a duotone. But I love it. The essence of duotone is there, in a beautiful image. 9 Jak

The light for me is a little to hard on the eyes... When I remove the light by lowering picture with the scroll bar, I can see the horse a lot clearer. A more nice feel to the eyes....

I can't offer any comments to improve it. It's beautiful!

Oh I love this shot, ahh if only it could have headed the other way. It is a shot of poetic porportions. I like it as a whole, blown aout sky, highly contrasted grass and luminecient mist. If the horse was in the other direction it would be a 10 so have 9. Good luck!

Wow, this is gorgeous. The two-tone aspect seems very natural with the sunlight as it is, and I like the way it starts bright at the top with a fade to the deep shadows at the bottom edge. The only real flaw is the horse might have looked better either against the brighter portion or against a deeper one.

WOW! I like this a lot. Good use of the tones to give it a nice warm feel! 9 -danny

Good shot - i would have liked it better if the sky was not so bright.
05/26/2003 07:33:52 PM
Now here is a richly toned shot that works. The misty sunshine not only lets you get away with it, but it makes the shot. Nicely done!

Wonerful shot. I think a little tighter crop on the top would have been nice.
05/26/2003 08:52:07 AM
Wow this is really good, 9

Shame about the tilt - I like the dreamy effect though.
