Trying to go for emotion. My aim is to allow for intrepretation by the viewer. To me, it is portrays a wretched shame, or low self esteem. Don't look at me, leave me alone kind of thing. Put a lot of thought into the pose and composition. I wanted a stark, harsh feel, hence the framing and processing. I was thinking of 2 titles, 'Grotesque', and 'Wretched Summer', but last minute I thought of this title 'after...', and although it has a deep private meaning for me, I felt it could be thought provoking and leave room again, for viewer intrepretation.

The model is me. Believe me, I don't make for a good photo subject :-), but I like the image, and I think I used that fact to my advantage in the shot. I'm sure it isn't most people's cup 'o tea, but as usual, if one or two like it, I'll be happy.

I used the 'low color' setting on the camera. Lighting was from one clamp reflector light bounced off the ceiling. In ps- cropped, usm, cloned out a tattoo and heat register that I couldn't avoid, tritone, screen layer and hard light layer with opacity dropped, levels, curves with a s curve and opacity dropped, resized.

Anyway, thanks for checking out my pic :-)

I had hoped to see this in the top 10. You really made me think and feel on this one. Look forward to seeing what you bring to future challenges.

After what? This is not doing anything for me. Is he in pain, is he sleeping the browns spoil it for me, I think this would have scored higher in black and white.

Makes me wonder... After What? Is it shame or fear causing him to curl up in the fetal position?

This one is very strong on the communication side - it talks to me of mental illness or of intense, unbearable pain. The focus is a touch soft - doesn't hinder too much but I would prefer it to be sharper myself. Like the composition and also the colour cast of the light. Also the anonymity of the model makes it a stronger, more universal image.

Color lighting and title were very good. Felt it could have been more exciting, maybe in composition. Not really to my taste but I didn't let that cloud my judgement. Good job.

I will give you 8 for this photo but what I think is that you should hvae the man in the lower right corner to better show how he is facing from the world / life ... but like the idea

I like the perspective of this. Also I really like the color. Kind of a dreary image. Nice Job.

Interesting work on the grain and finish of this picture. I get a feeling of helplesness and pain. Colours are good to portray that illusion as it can represent the fires of hell, or the light ened path to redemption. Composition is good as it lets lots of room for thinking and properly feel the the model's emotions. I am not sure why, but i think i would,ve liked a frame on this shot. I really like this. 8

Composition & Sepia are great.
A little dark under the leggs.
Background is a bit strange, I find it distracting.

I believe you were trying to convey emotions with this picture, and you've done a wonderful job. The tone and composition add to the mood created. Nice job

Good composition, IMHO the sepia is a bit much, and the image is rather noisy. 7

I was going to vote & then comment later, just wanted to put a pre-comment comment to say AWESOME!

-edit: Finished voting. this is my favourite male nude, and I think maybe even my favourite of the challenge. It has a schizophrenic, tense feel to it. I definitely think this should ribbon. Good luck!

powerful image... well done... not sure how I feel about the texture in the carpet though.

Makes me wonder "After what?", which is the point, I suppose! Interseting textures in this pic, and the only thing that I see that really distracts me is that there seems to be a yellowish cast to the lighting... could be intentional, tho, so I'm not marking off for that.

I like this image, it is very interesting. The color, tonal range, and lighting are all right on. I'm still interpreting the title. Overall: excellent.

This is an emotional image, but it seems to be missing some steps of the motive of the emotion. As for the shot itself, I think it's a bit too overprocessed. There's something about the shadows that don't quite seem right.

Tones a little dark. Don't really care for the texture of the carpet, but thats a personal choice. I really like the composition, the tones used, the POV and the DOF. Not sure what title means, but irrelevent - as long as you know. 8 - good luck in the challenge!

After what? I don't get it. I like the lighting and the colors in this shot. The use of negative space is good as well. Just the title could use some work.

Evokes emotion. After what? I wonder... something not good. The lighting is harsh - is that a fresco filter? I'm assuming you intended it to be harsh. I like the composition.

Well done. You have woven the tones well into the forlorn theme of this shot. Slightly too much burning along the back but overall one of the stronger images in this challenge. Good luck!

This almost has a desperate feel to it. I guess that was your intent. The negative space helps magnify that feeling. The lighting and shadow are well done.

After... after 16 shots of tequila? after the aliens were finished probing you? After a losing night of strip poker? I could go on like this all night. ;-)
Seriously - this is not what I would call "beautiful" but you didn't intend it to be. It is very artistic in a dark way and I am assuming that is what you intended. So, well done.
