Ah hell ... this is so far beyond everything else in this challenge - I suppose I should add 'in my opinion' - that I almost just stopped voting. I find it unsurprising, though still disappointing, that all those shallow images were rated so much higher. Well; I think this is one of the great images on dpc. |

I expected this to do much better... I suppose there is much more going on here than just nude- perhaps that's why it didn't do as well? I loved it & gave it a 9. Peaked my interest :0) |

hmm...I don't understand this (based on the title). Interesting colors, though. I wish I knew the story you are trying to tell, I can tell it's there. |

The spotlights and the lady's dress look out of place but that is nitpicking. Looks like a scene from a couple of centuries ago. Great work! |

There's obviously a story being portrayed here, but I feel like I'm missing a large part of it. I can't identify the two bright white spots on the wall above the nude figure, and as such I'm unsure whether they're distractors or clues about the scene. |

Wow! This is a very strange picture, but so interesting. Why "Bauhaus"?
Looking at it some more. Really quite fascinating. I hope you do well. The tones are fantastic, it looks like a movie set, older. Love the woman. She would make a story all by herself. She crosses over time somehow. ~10

A German style of architecture begun by Walter Gropius in 1918. Well I don't get the title.
It's interesting with lot's of information. Here are two things that struck me right away: The lights in the curtains look like eyes. Why are the other models in the picture?
Overall, I find the photo to busy and since I have no hope of understanding it without more verbal information, I lose interest quickly. |

Probably the most unusual and artistic photos in the challenge. I like the mood you've set and the entire scene. It might not fit the challenge as well as some other shots, but it fits and it's obviously well thought out. Very artsy.
Praise aside, I'll find some things to criticize.....The whole scene looks very 1890's to me....until you get to the clothed woman on the right. She almost seems out of place.
The other thing I'd like to see more of is the person in the lower left. Too much detail is lost there I think. All in all a fantastic image.

This is very intersting - you've made it appear aged and maybe even historical. It looks like it came from something archival. The omitance of the woman on the right would have accentuated this even further imo. Really like it. |

Great tonality and very interesting lighting. It's quite obvious that you spent a good amount of time on the lighting and set up. I personally don't understand the underlying story as I'm not familiar with the name in the title. I do think though that the white border doesn't add to the shot and because of it's brightness compared to the shot it draws my eye out of the frame. Good work. I appreciate the effort that went into this shot.

This shot is moderately confusion, and I'm completely missing the subject of the shot. I'm hoping it's a vocabulary thing, and if I knew the meaning of the word, I might have been better, but honestly, I don't think it would have brought the score up, I would have just understood it more. |

A reference to the art school? I go back and forth on this image - what I love is, at the same time, what I hate. Guess that's the point. Evoking emotion that is. The pose of the man/boy is submissive. I can almost see a whip in the woman's hand. Must be her stern expression. Wish I had a glimpse of the face of the artist at the lower left. Not that it would add, but I am intregued (sp?) I think your post processing works for the most part. I haven't figured out the significance of the 'professor' being lighted. But again it goes back the submissive pose of the model. Its looks as if a play is being put on, a play for my benefit but I can't quite figure out what I am supposed to take away from it. See - love and hate - I want to take something away but I'm not quite smart enough to figure it out. Ahhh...such is life. A 9 for making me think so much and for being interested enough to want more (the part I hate is not getting the more from the image). I'm afraid, as with anything that requires more than 1/8 of a second, you will suffer at the hands of the voters. Again, such is life. |
