I really like the the detail in this you must have used a small apeture. I think it would look better in black and white, and I am not a big fan of B&W, but I think this would have an Ansel Adams feel.

Painterly vibe and a wonderful viewpoint. Some would say it's tough not to take a good shot of this but the weather and choice of timing is great. |

I don't think it has as much of an impact in B&W... but I see what you mean with the colors. |

Interesting how it is dry and sunny in the foreground with that massive downpour in the background. :) It's that what makes this stand out from other GC shots, I'm a bit unsure about the color.
Edit: The position of the Colorado is also spot on.
