Magnificent and inspirational.
Great choice for a subject, examplary black and white. -(I grow restless taking it in). |

I thought this looked like Zion's when I saw it during the voting. This was definitely one of my top 10 in the challenge. |

This is a wonderful image. I had you picked as the winner! The shadows, and textures and shapes are all perfect IMO. GREAT shot and good luck in future challenges. |

Interesting rock striation, but I think a dark/light pattern would have suited better. I do like the lighting overall, how it fades into shadows off-center, though. |

The lines and shadows in this photo are incredible, but I think a different "duotone" would have had more impact - maybe a sepia? The b&w is a bit blah. Great subject, great composition. |

This is a great B&W subject. The way the shaddows carve out and define the space is wonderful. All those layers of earth - tiny lines. Nice job. I keep bobbing my head up and down to see if my monitor is showing it right - it seems a little bright. I would wish that the dark spot at the back of the photo - where the wall curves around and disappears, I wish it were black black - and if you could get it larger it would give a destination for the viewer eyes - "what's around the next corner?" The whole photo might look a bit better darker. Play with levels? Still I love it! 8 |

a bit more inrease in contrast would be better. Also, wider angle lens would work well (show the path).6 |

MMM...I like this! The lighting and focus is perfect. Shows nice depth. I feel I could walk right into the picture and follow the trail through canyon. Great texture noted in the rocks. |

Amazing texture - the bottom seems a little blown out but it's intriguing. 9 |

Wonderful shapes, lines and texture. I find it a little uninteresting, I guess I need something for comparison....person, sky, lizard. 7 |

Shows nice texture, like the lighting and contrast... nice simple shot (does lack that WOW appeal though). |

I feel that this shot was as exciting in B&W as it would have been in color because of the great history in the rock strata that just pops out at you. |

Now there's a subject worthy of this challenge! Could work even better without the high-key approach? |
