I have to agree with everybody pretty much. The curved plate is awesome. Very nice lines. I think it was very creative use of cheetohs. The cheetohs and the table cloth have very nice texture. The whole shot I think has a nice "feel" between the textures and colors. I like the composition. Only improvement I can see, and it is minor, is a little bit of adjustment to the lighting. It seems just a wee bit bright coming in on bottom left. It is not very distracting at all, just a thought. Maybe a little editing could do it. It is a nice shot overall. Very pleasing to the eye. |

I like this the depth of focus it is near perfect... but for the second cheese thing from the bottom it seems to be to close, moved back half an inch it would be fine (or just USM it a bit)
it is great how you picked up the weave in the table cloth
and as the others have said great use of color and composition |

This one has the 3 c's - Clarity, color, and composition. I was expection mac & cheese from the thumbnail, so it was a bit of a surprise. You picked just the right plate to make this look artistic - the blue is the perfect shade and the curved lines really help the look of the photo.
It's not something I would hang on my wall, but for what it is it's very well done I think. |

I love the complimentary color arrangement here...very vibrant. I also like the composition. Who knew a cheeto could be interesting? :o) |

Greetings from the Critique Club:

Hi, Steve
By the way, I would like to congratulate you on your highest rated photo on DPC. You are developing a good eye for photography.
Composition: I like the corner placement of your subject and the Cheetos are nicely arranged on the plate.
Technical: You have good DOF and focus here. You picked up the texture of the Cheetos as well as the ridges in the plate. The lighting is apporpriate. My only complaint might be with the reflection of what appears to be you taking the picture showing up on the lower left part of the plate. Slight distraction, maybe, but I'm just trying to pull up something. So, very minor.
Challenge: The vibrant orange and blue colors, of course, meet the challenge perfectly. Nicely done.
Overall: I agree with a couple of the comments below...that this picture could very easily be used in a magazine ad for Cheetos. It is fun and appealing. I feel as if I could reach in the computer and pluck a cheesy snack.
Good luck in future challenges. Will be anxious to see what you come out with. |

Interesting choice of subjects, but it works well. I like the dual contrast between the textures and colors. |

Crunchy orange worms, my favorite snack!
Nice. Very home-entertainment-magaziney, I could picture it as an ad (I like good commercial work, so this is a compliment). Or accompanying an article on, I don't know, the evil of overly processed cheese. And very definitely topical. |

*drool*...nice focus and use of depth of field. couldn't you have used a white piece of paper under the plate to wash out the background more? 6 |

Very clear and detailed. This pic just sprang out at me and said "give me a ten", so that's what I'm doing - 10! |
