great light reflections - might even have cut off the water below totally.

Very cool.... The mosaic in the background goes nicely with the reflections.

I don't know what this is...The thing is I am attracted to images that make me wonder. Intriguing. I like it.

Great shadow play! Nothing to critique, personally I would have centered on the reflection and left the view guessing about the source, but your choice was good, too. Photo 10 Creativity 9 B&W 9 total 9

Odd shot but it works for me.
06/07/2002 09:50:00 AM
Very good! I like how the pattern of the reflection is similar to the pattern of the stones in the background.
06/07/2002 06:14:00 AM
Wow, youve made a grim underpass look quite nice.

Just a beautiful picture. I love it.

Oh, this is very nice! It reminds me of the turkish baths scene from the Orson Welles version of Othello. Another to go in my 10s :)

the reflection and abstract graphical forms are compelling and give this iamge a good score.

love the shapes and lighting

Great work. This photo is so full of interesting structures that I'm glad there is no central focus. My eye doesn't rest on any one part of the photo, and in this case that's a good thing, because everything I look at is interesting.

Kind of interesting in an abstract sort of way. I wish that light on the water to the right wasn't there. Also would have enjoyed some more contrast.
06/05/2002 01:55:00 PM
I really like the pattern of the shadows on the top, and the way this picture is framed is nice also. The only thing that would improve it is the way the light shines in on teh right, but I fully recognize that that is out of your control, and would probably change the picture dramatically.

Good contrast. Something seems to be cutting this photograph in half horizontally.
06/05/2002 02:52:00 AM
The reflections in this photo add a nice touch! Good job!

Nice, simple geometry and very nice reflections - you have the knack of thinking in B/W. The patch of sunlight on the water at R is a shame. I can't help but wonder how this would look from the other side of the creek.
06/04/2002 12:18:00 PM
Neat. I admit I don't know quite what it is, but I like the repeating patterns between the tiles/stones? and the reflections.
06/04/2002 11:42:00 AM
Very cool effect. I the pattern the reflection of those rocks through the arch or just from the wavelets?
06/04/2002 11:23:00 AM
Really cool. I wish there was a little more shadow in it to balance out all the light, but I don't think it's possible to do without spot touches. The only element I'd say detracts is the patch of sunlight in the water in the lower right. But, you can't really do anything about that without losing the reflections on the ceiling. Maybe a smaller crop that cuts it out? All just suggestions -- good shot.

Now, THAT'S a great shot! Awesome!

Neat idea nicely done. Good job.

Nice framing, good use of reflections.
06/03/2002 07:45:00 AM
nice shot!

Great shot!! very simple content but the reflection in B&W is powerful. Also the arch in the background with the stoned-slope really coincides with the reflection so that just really seals this image as a winner (maybe not of the challenge but in my eyes for sure)
06/03/2002 01:37:00 AM
I really like the textures created in this image, great reflections.
06/02/2002 09:43:00 PM
Wow! Striking brilliant photograph, excellent use of the full tonal range of the media. It takes a top ten in my book.
06/02/2002 09:30:00 PM
Very cool use of refracted light. This is the reason i hate voting on this one, I love B&W, and this really shows how it can enhance the lighting.
