Nice. What kind of bird is that? It's very photogenic...LOL.
The focus is quite good. As others point, the BG is too similar to the bird. Maybe some play with PS could help. The composition is too centered IMO. The B&W tones are very nice.

I love shots like this, but in this particular one, maybe a color version would have worked better since the depth of field is shallow, and the bird may have stood out more against a soft background.

I agree with the other commenters that it would be good to see the original and reprocess so the bird stands out more from the background. Let me be the first to say -- cool bird! looks like a stuffed animal. :)

Not as strong composition as the first two (IMHO). B/W doesn't work for me here. Also don't care for the trucks in the background. Would like to see color version, as I still think it has potential.

This photo also has potential. I would have liked also seeing the original. The subject blends into the background. I may have cropped alittle of the top off. It is still a really nice capture.

Very nice contrast. The wing of the bird, though seems to be joining the background too much. Do you have the ability in your editing to lighten up either the wing or the background, just on that one spot, though? I also would like to see a closer cropping. By the way, I love black and white. I am posting one of cows on my portfolio. I decided I don't want to enter dairy after all.

I would crop this one closer to the bird, to make it easier to focus on the subject. I also agree that the b/w doesn't give it enough contrast to allow the subject to stand out. I would like to see this one in color.

Porbably my least favorite of the bunch, it's too busy for me...plus birds aren't really my fancy. What is it like in color with selective desat? I dunno, I'm not an expert or anything.

I love the bird and the post. Using black and white, the background doesn't give you enough contrast for the bird to really POP away from it. Or try blurring out the background more so he is clear and not lost in the foliage.
