 A friend of mine is the lead guitar player in the Sydney cover band "Urban Assault" and this is their singer and was taken on Friday at the Allawah Hotel
I borrowed another friends 20D and 50mm 1.4 lens (first time I've used a DSLR camera)
tried lots of different setting... ISO 1600 without flash at f1.4 was ok but the depth of field was far to small
so ended up using a flash bounced of the roof at ISO 800 f2 with a -2ev setting for this shot
it was really hard trying to get a good shot as they were using lots of colored lights that were changing levels and colors all the time

had trouble with the arm of the base player if I did a hue shift on the blues I could get rid of it but it stuffed the rest of the photo

His hand in his face is disrtacting and skin tones don't look natural, IMHO. 6.

Nice shot. If the other performer were not in the photo (or completely visible) the emotive effect could have been stronger. 7 in a first sweep of the challenge photos.

Slightly overexposed, but what spoils this shot is the musician in the background. Everything in the background should be part of the composition of any photo... the background musician clearly hasn't been placed well in the shot so this looks like a snapshot. The lead singer's face is too obscured by the mic, you really need to be more to the side.

He seems a bit washed out and maybe too pink. You could work on the skin tones and make it really nice.
