| 6 - Met the Challenge, especially in the true time capsule 'contents' aspect, even though a photo of this put into said year time capsule would depict the era well for future generations as well. Criticism; whilst I do like this shot and the simplicity of it, I would like to see a little more character 'items' included as well. I can see the effects you have applied and I think for these 'items' in my opinion, there is too much grain, or, not sure, sepia a touch more yellow, just not getting that real 'old style' photograph feel to me. Maybe yes playing with the shadows, incorporating them more, may have also added an extra something to this shot and made it better in my opinion. Perhaps, a darker frame, not sure. |

Not sure I understand how a baseball cap, a bat, and ball evoke 1957; but I suppose if one were an avid baseball fan and recognized which team it was and who won what in that year ...
The lighting is crisp and beautiful. The composition is nice. There is, however, as sterile cleanliness to bat and ball that suggest somewhat less interest in the life of the game than in the form of the tools by which it is played, and this subtly steals life from the composition.

| Like the sepia tones here, and the grain adds a nostalgic feeling to this photo. One of only two baseball themes in the challenge! Good job and good luck! ;-) |

| how does this photo be 1957 and not 1960 or 1990 or 2005? being grainy is great for effects but the composition simply do not convey a strong sense of "time" to me |
