 Dedicated to peace.

Done using a 25 second exposure and a flashlight to achieve mutliple exposures from about 6 images, text, pages and my hands. Conceptually the finished product can be thought of as a visual collage. Some of the photos are from a national geographic article on the Chechen war (1994 - present). 1991 is symbolic as the fall of the Soviet Union and the beginning of the nationalist independence movements in the former republics.

PS - raw conversion, curves, selective color, crop, usm

Was this shot through glass? The reflections (?) distort the image and confuse the eye. A good attempt, but it comes out a bit confusing.

I like the infusion of the different elements, but for me, the glare is a bit strong by the boy's head. Pretty cool though.

5 - There is too much here that I can't discern - if it is 'time capsule contents' or a shot that could be printed off and put into a time capsule. I am surmising it is an era to do with Chechnya(?), so, in my opinion, as for if it meets the Challenge, I'm guessing it is 'contents' and that you have made some effort here to meet the Challenge especially with your title and not elaborating or trying to 'explain' - which is what you were asked. Criticism; as I said, I think if more of the 'items' were distinguishable, it would make it a better photograph in my opinion. I like the colors and 'feel', just would like to be able to focus on more than the text and child to get 'the story'. A cropping out of the top 'nothing' would have helped too in my opinion.

The only drawback I have with this shot is that there's so much going on here that it's difficult to distinguish many things. I love the effect and it's very nostalgic. I also think it meets the challenge perfectly. I'd love to know how you did this. 8
