Beautifully done. I like the black background very much, limits the distraction from the subject. I will bet this is very pretty in color. I am not certain that the leaf in the foreground is a good thing, picky, picky.

Background not completely black, so only an 8.

Like the shape, form , and focus in your picture.

The huge leaf/blooming thing in the front is horribly distracting from your spiked beauties -- try a different angle

Great lighting and shadows on this. I gave it a 9. The larger pedal in the front was a little bit distracting, and the only thing IMO that kept this from being a perfect photograph.

You might have isolated the spiky bits to greater effect. Big leaf is oof, and others at bottom don't add much. Nice tones, though slightly dark in the shadows.

Nice compositon... what is it?

Interesting that you brought the spikes into the title but it's the big leaf that takes my attention. I wish I could see this from the bottom up angle, so it looks like it's 3 feet tall. I do like the clarity and how you cropped it. Good job.

A picture like this needs to be very sharp. If it was it'd get a 9 from me.

I really like the way you can see the texture of the petal, and the way the shadows are used. parts of it seem out of focus, but it doesn't take away from the picture.

Very cool. Plants are amazing things, no?

This is pretty nice, I think you did a good job here. My only nit would be to of cropped the top a bit more. Still good job.

There's something I don't like about the way the flower is arranged. The spikes are such a strong feature, but are obscured by that huge petal.

Nice composition. The whole picture is too dark for my taste, could a different background worked better?
