Hello Chris,

First Impressions: You did a nice job finding a subject for "Secondary Colors" in its own environment. It's a good idea to keep looking for oportunities to take photos.

Challenge: The secondary colours show best in the orange and green sodas and the purple background for the label on the orange soda. It is sad that the middle soda is not really a secondary (at least on my monitor it shows in tones of red and wine, not purple). I think that lessens the picture's impact.

Composition: The angle from which you took the picture makes it look a bit like an "ad". It's an interesting angle. It might be nice not to have a second row of sodas behind (blank background). I personally like the way you show only part of the bottles to the sides.

Focus/Lighting: Focus and lighting is adequate, but the glare reflecting off the bottles takes away from your picture. The colours of the soda, especially the middle bottle, are a bit too dark. It would be hard to change the lighting in a public space, but you could try to set up a similar scene at home, and play around with lighting.

Overall: Nice composition, meets the challenge, but feels too much like a quick snapshot, not like a polished entry. Keep at it!

I like the camera angle and the idea for this picture but something isn’t quite right. It just doesn’t look natural, maybe it is the white balance? I also don’t like the way the light is reflecting off the label of the middle bottle. I know the lighting is very harsh in those refrig’s and that aspect of this picture is more accurate but I find the bright speculars to be distracting. I think the shot was well composed though. I gave it a 5.

pretty unimaginative, glare is bad, focus is off. 2

Good subjects. The composition does not show them off so well. Also the glare is distracting.

too bad you couldn't get all three bottles in the photo. the angle is interesting but the light glare is a little distracting.

Good idea. Is this at the store, or did you actually buy them for the shot? It looks like you just placed the labels hap-hazardly. I would have perfered the labels more layed out, but maybe that is the look you were going for. Also a little grainy.

shame about the lighting.... i can just see you sneaking your camera out of your pocket in the supermarket... quickly taking a few snaps... and putting your dark glasses back on and innocently walking out... haaha...
Would have benifited from neat image to get rid of some of the noise.
