That seems to be the same chess board I have!
It's also used in X-Men 2....what a famous chess board :-)

Nice idea...

If this were posted on a 3D site it would be a great rendering... Awesome clarity and the lighting is dead on, 10

The boards gotta be see through and not reflective right? You have two pawns at either end on both sides of the board and the knight is only behind it? Great illusion!

Nice work to create this illusion, clear and sharp image with plenty of intrigue.

interesting idea, well executed, Photographing spherical g;ass objects can be rather difficult. You seemed to have mastered this well.

Figured this out - shadows tell the story!

Certainly a nice illusion but I think I would like the chess board to be straight. the diagonal is a little distracting

cool idea, just seems kind of boring. the shadows are a little off for the reflections, and the colors are kind of bland.

I really like this...great idea. The chess board isn't straight across but that's okay

CLean and simple - maybe a straighter, centered horizontal edge instead of the angle? Good job though.

Nice. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out what and how you did this but now I know. Pretty tricky. The give-away was the lack of shadow at the sandblasted area. Good illusion.

the tilt is distracting to me, but other than that, cool image

First Impression: Nice clear image. A bit harsh on the contrast of the real peices maybe.
Was I fooled? Yes! Congratulations. Very spooky.

I have been getting real tired of chess piece pictures, but I like this one and the illusion. The lighting and muted colors are great. The only thing...would it have been possible to have the same effect, but get the checkered board lines even with the top of the picture? The angle is distracting to me. 9

Interesting. I think I figured out how you did this. The chessboard is transparent glass, not a mirror. You actually have 3 pieces on the other side. Yes?

Very well done.

I always enjoy your chess shots. I recognize the glass board - my son enjoys the game. Well done.
