I finally got around to experimenting with light painting and I must say it's fun to do :)

Setup: dead lightbulb on my Wacom tablet, held up with melted wax. Optical mouse used as light source.

The rest was trial and error. Out of many many many takes, this was one of the few with the desired light effect on the surface of the bulb. Still not ideal, but close enough (I also got tired of doing more takes).

Thank you Gordon for your amazing Fantasia shot, which inspired me to attempt this style of photography.

Wow! This is a great shot, and a great idea too! I have no idea how you did it, but it is wonderful. The leading line, the perfect exposure, the blackness trapping the lighbulg, everything!

I hope this takes a ribbon.

The reflection is a little offputting, but I like the light trail and blue cast. 7.

Very nice sweeping "S" with satisfying monochromatic tines.

Interesting shot. The soft focus works well in this photo. I also like the color range. Well done and good luck in this challenge. <8>

If that lightbulb would be sharp, this would be a ribbon winner. It is a fantastic effect. Lighting is great. Just the sharpness of the bulb that holds the picture back. 6

Is the light flowing into the lisght bulb? or escaping from it?

Beautifull, but I wish the bulb was sharper

Nicely executed. The light trail really is effective to pull the eye to the light bulb. Good stuff.

You know, every time I see these light bulb shots done well, I'm fascinated. I really like them and would like to try it myself some day. With this one, I like the blue and the trail leading to it. It is very well done. The only thing I don't like is the glare spot under the light bulb. I'll be anxious to see how you did this and why that glare spot is there and if it could be avoided without just taking it in post-editing. Good luck in the challenge. I hope you are getting good scores.

Intriguing, especially with that sweeping zigzag below. Nice composition, unusual colours.

This is my favorite so far. I love the blue and it's trail and flair beneath the bulb.
