Let me begin by saying NO PS TRICKS - THIS IS ONE EXPOSURE!
Now, a bit about how it was accomplished....
OK, the model is myself (both of em). In order to shoot this I needed to be behind the camera, infront of the camera in 2 places and operating 2 lights and though I may be good at multi-tasking, I'm not that good. Oh, and I'm working in a pitch black room.
Soooooo, I hired a friend to be lighting man (for free in exchange for some photography lessons). I first set the camera's manual focus, and my composition area. Next, I set the camera's timer and hit the shutter release. In the 10 seconds before the shutter opens, I can easily get to my first mark (sitting) and strike a pose. The instant the shutter opens, my friend turns on and fires the first flash (alien bee with softbox). Quick as a bunny, I jump up and run to second mark while my friend turns off the first flash, and runs to a second one (another alien bee with a very long narrow homemade black snoot), powers it up and trips the flash. All of this during a 8 second exposure time.
We shot this about 50 times before getting a result that I was pleased with. Just wanted to share the fun. :)
Editing included adjusting levels, contrast and color balance, smoothing grain and correcting imperfections. |

Cute. I like the (almost) look of discust on the background girl and the blank stare of the one in the front. Well done and good luck in this challenge. <7> |

Whoever the model is, I'm amazed that she managed to stand so perfectly still. |

Love the composition. The only thing that throws me is the precise pose and expression on the foreground figure. Background figure is perfect. |

Good technique. I see what you have done with the light and exposure. But it's not very apealing, despite the fact it is a very well achievement. |

Nice comp and idea. Well executed. The sitting posed seems tense or even a little unnatural. all in all very nice though. |

I would have made one of the images more transparent. Less exposure on one or the other would have given it more of a ghost affect. |

One of you looks like a 16 year old and the other looks almost a decade older! Is that the same model? Great shot- would make an excellent entry in many challenges. |

Love the lighting. And am amazed how solid the images are, given that it is a multiple exposure. Would love to know how that was done. |

Very cool. I wish my camera would stay open long enough. You did a good job on this. Fun and interesting poses. Nice lighting too. |
