I love places like this..great shot, and of course you already know about the border..I think playing with borders if fun...and sometimes I like them but I think this shot is too straightforward for this one...

thanks Linda...and shoot me next time I try something new...never entered my mind to put NO frame..lol...I did debate between this one entered and one with white border and small brown border inside white border..but i thought the wide black made it look more 3d or something..i dunno WHAT i'z thinking..lol

** Greetings from the Critique Club **

I love this photo - but the frame is much too heavy. Not sure black was a good color choice for the frame either. A rich brown frame - much thinner comes to mind as a better choice.
Colors within the photo are beautiful. Great DOF and focus. Excellent composition.

Border is too thick on this, but the photo stands alone at being really nice work. The birds in the background really set it off.

They must've been running a special on borders that day. Wow.

Anyway, I like the shot. The two cranes are a good capper to the image, and it almost seems as though some of the cypress knees and branches are talking to each other, too. All in all, I think this is a good shot, but that border blows my mind (and really, I normally don't mind borders).

the frame is much too thick - would be a really nice photo with a thinner frame.

the border is too heavy, it overwhelms a fine image

I like it, especially all the deadwood in water, the frame is a little too thick for image.

really good. the border is very strong, but I think it adds to the photo. I'm sure many DPC'ers disagree :)

What an amazing shot. Though I'm not a "hater" of frames, this franme is a bit too heavy for the minimalistic tone of this shot. It really could have stood out without the distraction of all the heaviness of the edge. Good luck!

This is a really nice shot the subject is a bit different from the norm, but I think the frame is rather distracting.

I find the boarder a little strong but otherwise a nice shot. 7

Really nice work here. The colors are all very well done, and lighting is perfect. The border is a bit large.

I like frames but this one is a little on the thick side. Lovely photo inside it!

This is really a fantastic photograph! Don't care for the big border though - it's a real distraction to me.

Frame hurts this. I would like to see a tighter crop on the top of the photo.

Very nice natural setting. It has plenty of interest without being too busy. I love the birds in the background. Really well done.

The large border is distracting in this image. The photo is good without it.

Beautiful picture, the only thing I would change is to crop the picture so the bright spot in the bottom right is taken out. I find it distracting.

A usual fame of borders - I don't really like the thickness of this one - it is very distracting! The subject is otherwise interesting.
