I came to leave a comment on this and noticed that I voted it an 8. Nice, crisp and great color.

Isn't it great how God created that fur as such a complimentary color to the fioliage this little critter lives in? The browns against the greens are beautiful, and the clarity of the image is a credit to you. It's a really nice image - 7

Very nice capture. Lighting couldn't be any more perfect. Great focus. Shows nice detail.

I don't see 'wood' as the main object here. It's a very nice shot, but the squirrel takes all the attention. 5

That's what I love: pictures that enhance the subject with something really cool to look at, because wood by itself is pretty boring. I hope you are not getting the "subject is the squirrel not the wood" comment. I had a picture something like this for another challenge and it got beat up unmercifully for that reason -- I hope not here because it's really a neat picture. My only suggestion would be that I think it might have been better with a slightly bigger depth of field so the whole wooden log was in focus. But I love it anyway! 8

Great squirrel shot, not so great a wood shot.

Very cute image. I think you might do better with a little more DOF so the front area is in focus.

This has nice lighting. I wish the squirrel weren't so centered. Maybe follow down the wooden plank with him at the end for a bit more visual interest, or just less of a crop on one side. I like the twinkle in his eye. hee hee Good DOF. THe gray/blue of the wood is a nice contrast to his warm brown and yellow tones. Overall, nice capture. 7

Cute squirell. This picture will probably have the same problem in voting as mine. The pictures main focus doesn't appear to be the wood.
