responding to macrothing's comment:
I guess my listing the location of the photo as Glacier NP was a bit misleading - it was in Glacier, but a more accurate description of the location would be "Glacier National Park on the hood of my white car." -- Thanks for pointing out the dust specks. I actually hadn't noticed them (shame on me!) and have now removed them.

re: wavelength:
I think you were right, this did need a minor cropping adjustment. I took a bit off the right, top, and bottom. Maybe "macro" is a poor description of this shot - I guess it's just a buggy picture :D

Most of the time I don't like photos of insects. This is an exception. It has a graphic look. I like it.

"Glacier National Park, MT " - This was taken in a natural setting? - ice/frozen lake? - if so, amazing. Obviously more detail would be good, but the reflection is good as is the symmetry and composition. Perhaps (moot point but had you submitted to the Challenge, assume you would have), cloned out the few 'specks'. Good shot. Perhaps a slightly tighter crop at the top (or including more of whatever that 'white' is, if you had it obviously), may have made this even better - the horizontal/'wide-angle' framing may have also given this something extra, who knows. edit: if you could add the 'answers' in your above comments, would be good - edit#2: thank you for including the extra information

::least commented photo drive::

I like this but it could have used a bit more detail on the bug, or a tighter crop I think. macro is about detail after all :o). The placement of the subject is great, and I like the reflection.
