After my firt wood photo shoot the results weren't that great, but later on, this idea just hit me...I really love how strong the colors turned out(I didn't even boost it's saturation),
but for some reason after I saved it for the web, the quality took a beating, causing it to get pixelated. Strange...this usually doesn't happen...oh well, I'll take what I can get:-)
contrast,crop,rotate,desaturation(selective),clone,burn,save for web.

Great shot, in focus and clean. Love the color and it fits well in the competition. Good luck. 8

Well composed and nice use of the black background. I like it a lot. You might consider cloning out light specks, such as on the black piece in upper right.

The conrtast of color is slightly off, and the photo looks liked it was sharpened too many times. 6

Lovely to look at and such choice woods that literally sing. Your capture cements that feeling.

I like the composition of this shot. The red is a little too strong for my tastes, though.

The violin fairly glows in this shot. Well done!

It looks very small, for a cello. I looks rather like a small size violin. But it is very appealing and the colors, lighting, composition and bg are excellent.

Looks to be a tad soft but that may be the jpg compression so I won't deduct for that. There also appears to be some dust spots (or something) along the right hand side of the photo and in the lower left corner of the cello that detract from the image. All in all a very nicely composed shot and well light. (7)

Nice macro. I think I might desat a bit of the red and perhaps the yellow of the wood. It might be really interesting done in black and white. The dark background is effectibe but I think the light just makes it t tad too yellow. I like how it skims over the left edges and the "S" is very vivid.

WOW. Very nice. Only thing I'd change is cleaning it a little more.
