Challenge: Textures III (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
Location: White Sulphur Springs, WV
Date: Jul 15, 2005
Aperture: f/2.8
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/25 sec
Galleries: Still Life
Date Uploaded: Jul 18, 2005

A shot taken at my parents house when I was visiting last week. I really wanted to do a midnight sepia kind of look to this picture, but I couldn't do it within the confines of basic editing. Just some hue/saturation, curves and selective color work from the original picture.

Nice composition. Might improve with a little more colorful background.

i think i would have liked the perspective a tad lower. i like the composition, i don't know if that's a good thing for you :) don't like the shadows. interesting.

I'm a victim of pop culture. First thing I thought of was the Blair Witch Project. Seems a little soft and there is green in the shadows. A more contrasty light I think would help bring out more texture.

Good texture, but I don't care for the croppping. I would rather have seen the whole star in an asymetrical composition.
