A glass chess set sitting out on the deck where I could catch reflected sky in the pieces. You can see the entire set reflected in the pawn, but probably not at this resolution! :)

This is a very nice piece. Also scored this an 8. I like the idea of this shot and the details are great! Suggestion - crop the bottom a bit as the edge of the board creates some odd directional reflections. All in all, I like this piece very much. Rob

This is an interesting perspective. You've even managed to catch some refraction of the sky in those front chess pieces, well done. This would have also been nice to see with everything fully in focus, but this works too.

Great work - the angle of this shot is stunning and the sky background is so refreshing. Lovely detail / sharpness and the shallow depth of field gives a sense of distance between the two teams - well done.

Best original chess background in awhile - unfortunate that a bit of blue got into your reflection and you left it. I like the shot as it is, above the chessboard.

I really like it. We see a LOT of chess set images but you've really set this composition apart. Great perspective with lots to look at and enjoy in the contrasts between focused and unfocused pieces and all the amazing reflections of the sky.

I like the "enemy" soft in the distance- but wish all the foreground was sharp. NIce Idea, I like the sky through the glass

Shallow DOF really adds a sense of perspective to this shot; clouds and blue sky add an almost magical effect. In my opinion, the edge of the chess board is a bit distracting, and might have been better cropped out.

Lovely idea... I would have liked the clouds to have looked more ominous. Great focus & DOP.

looks like a nice day for a fight. i love the sky through the chess pieces. i wonder if using the dof helps here - it might have been pretty neat if the far pieces were also in focus and we were seeing the sky through them as well.

A lil more sharpening is what I would have wished for...

nice twist on a studio shot we've seen a hundred times. Indoors with a backdrop wouldn't have worked as well as this. I like the clouds.
