 Basic....Picture of my Dad...as a young Seaman during WWII....the photo was submitted in the Independence Challenge, July 16, 2005...as a tribute to him....He was 17 at the time of this photo...and he died in 1980, at the age of 55yrs...young..of pancreatic cancer...Hi Dad..

Right along the lines of my entry. Well done. Only suggestion would be to place the metal thing (bracelet?) somewhere else - not over part of his face. Good luck!

This shot was well thought out, very patriotic, puts a lump in my throat. God bless all those fighting for our independence. Fits the catagory perfectly.

If I would change something - it would be the placing of the thing at right edge, its partly covering the face.

I love the sentiment here. I rated this a 5, which is lower than I would like given the care and the love put into this composition. But I find the angle of the photo included in this studio shot quite distracting. I don't mean to be offensive, truly, I just wanted you to know why I voted the way I did. Good luck.

Nice shot, but I'm not sure I like the photo at such an angle. There is really no central focus to this picture.

Meets theme teriffically well, but, composition has a cluttered effect.

Thank you for not laying out everything all straight and symmetrical. The angles make this much more interesting. The intense colors of the flag, the sepia of the photo and the shine of the bracelet are nice contrasts. I'm sure you'll get some comments that this is cliche or trite, but of this type of image, I like it alot.
