I thought this picture deserved more than its final score. I would liked to have had the rest of the wing in the shot though.

Birds do not pose for you to get the best shot.

...Actually some times it feels like they are. But with finicky subjects that move quick...next time zoom out a bit more and make sure to get the composition first. You can always crop back down with all those megapixels you have to play with.

nice capture of a show of strength. great exposure in direct sunlight. the composition feels off to me with the piece of the wing missing on the left and then all that room on the right

Shame the left wing is cropped, but the photo other than that is really nice. 7

I like this - even the cropping of his right wing is effective. I like that the pole is angled. Nice light. The halo around his wings is a nice touch.
