Thanks for the comments, everyone. I was potentially going to use these shots for stock purposes, so having their faces in shadow was part of protecting their anonymity--also important if they're truly "moonlighting" or working a second job, where they may not want their identity and location revealed to the world.

Interesting perception about the structural resemblance to a gallows--you are absolutely correct. I may take some more shots without the guys there for just that look now.

You will probably think this is odd. Each time I see this image, especially in thumbnail, I think of a gallows. I think it is the overpoweringly geometric in your face of the wood. The moon is not really that stong - I look and move on. The placing of the two men reinforces the 'gallow' sense I get. The only thing that pulls me away fromt hat is when I look hard at their faces. So, for me at least, this image works on a much more subtle level than I think you may have intended. Hey - that's good for you, yes? The lighting in this image is not the greatest - harsh sunlight - but we work with what we have. I think this would be interesting to re-visit on a dreary day, framed the same, without the smiles. Maybe not. But I find this image intriguing and forcing a second, third, and fourth look. 8 - good luck in the challenge!

Might have been better if they weren't posing, but that's just my opinion...

Talk about framing a shot!. I love it. I wonder if you considered cropping a bit off the top. I think it might be better, possibly, if much of the wood lintel were cropped off. And I do wish I could see the faces just a little bit better. Still, it's a fun point of view
