 This is a metaphor for independence. As you see, all the other candles are melted, tainted, crooked and burnt out- the one in the middle is white, pure, strait and brand new. (I know, thanks Captain Obvious :p)

This was the longest set up for a photo I've ever done here on DPC. It took forever to melt those candles the way I wanted! I'm annoyed with the out of focus front round candle, but I really like the drips on the candle in the back. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the result.

---> Sorry to my mom for ruining one of her tableclothes and sorry to Raven for making her kitchen smell like 15 different candles- oh yes, and the mess. :)

I like how the inside of each candle seems to glow even though they are not lit. For some reason, it reminds me of my college days when we believed that burning candles was more romantic (cost effective) than turning on a light! hehe

I think I would have liked to see the lit candle apart from the melted ones. The candle is too dead center for my liking but a neat Idea and a good photo aside from my personal tastes. 6

I think the composition with the lit candle right in the middle is too centered.

Nice simple idea..well done...personally I would have prefered the candle a little off center, but maybe that would just change the whole standing out in the MIDDLE of a crowd thing you have going here.
