Nice peice of driftwood. Looks like a packing peanute to me though. I do not mind the highlights on the front left. I like the way the background fades right into it. I gave it a 7.

as far as driftwood goes, it's a bit plain. I like the use of b/w, but the focus seems a bit soft and the depth of field should be greater, imo.

The white studio backround isn´t adding anything interesting to the shot IMHO, I think I would have preferred to see the piece of driftwood in it´s natural surroundings. The lighting is also a bit too harsh for my taste but other than that pretty good, technically it´s ok, very sharp and it works well to have this B/W.
