Looks like her red hair is disappearing! doh!
You're really coming along. I was just browsing through your portfolio, and you've got some really fine photos. Keep it up! |

beautiful model and nicely bold colors. the disappearing line with the greens framing it works really well for me. Thanks for describing the set up, as I think it's a great thing when sometimes we visualize a shot, and then take it, and it succeeds.
To nitpick (I know, I know...but that little fork of the road on the left side could be blasted out by a bit of green, as to emphasize the framing of the bigger road.)

The thing that struck me about this picture is the bold colors. I love the deep orange of the dress, the stark grey of the road and the lush green in the background. |

This is a wonderful picture of your daughter but like many others I wish her feet were included. Everything else is perfect. Nice work! |

her feet shouldn't have been cropped out or it would have been a 10 for me. 9 |

At first glance, oh another kid, but oh what a compelling portrait. I just can't look away. There's some kind of connection in that eye contact and the pose and coloured dress against the muted colours of the long path behind all combine to make this pop out at me. 8 |

wonderful colors. maybe just too much leg...it feels like you've unintentionally cut off her feet...perhaps you had. i'm thinking cropped right at the knee and this shot would be perfect...but what do i know, i'm sure it will do well as is. just realized why i really like this shot...the way her arms mimic the sides of the roads...nice work. |

I wish her feet were in the shot. Something about this one that I really love. |

Very well composed and the colour contrast between the orange and green adds life to the image.
Good work |

Nice pic. Good use of colours, using only three (gray, orange and green plus the skintones), really simplifies the picture and makes the subject pop-out. I think it was a mistake the crop out her feet, though. Also, this doesn't work for me as a picture of 'independence', but it is an excellent picture of a child. |

This shot is very nice but the fact that you cut off her feet is a real eyesore here and IMO is a BIG no no. Other than that, love this shot, very nice colours, contrast and DOF. |

Unlike some here, I'm a sucker for kid shots. She sure does fit the challenge, and I like the portrait a lot. Could be even better IMO if she were shifted a bit right (mine not hers), and I also would prefer to see her feet included in the shot. (7) Bumping to (8) on second pass.... I just LIKE this photo! |

This may have been better if her feet weren't cut off. It seems to throw off the balance. |

Great picture, just wish she wasn't cut off at the ankles, it's usually bad to cut off the image at a person's joint like knee, ankle, etc. I love the orange though, it really stands out. |

Great DOF, Nice and sharp, She's cute as a button as my grandma would say.
Wish you could have kept her feet. |

Great expression, color and pose. The out of focus and receeding road also works well with the photo. Very minor detail but the telephone post (?) with the white box distracts just a tad...cropping it out might have worked better?
Well done! She does seem to have an independent streak :) |

She turns her back on the obvious way.....where will she go? I guess any way she wants......Independence (until Daddy picks her up, of course!) Nice pic. |

Wow, cute subject, great expression. DOF is perfect so is lighting and focus. There's a rule about 'not chopping a person off at a joint' which I think might apply here. There's also one I heard first at this site about 'always showing the feet unless it's a head shot' In any case, the more I look at the photo, the more I miss those feet. It's a quibble, but I wonder if the photo would not be stronger with the road travelling just a tad more diagonally in he photo? |

Orange clothes definitely show a penchant for independence. The only thing I would change is showing her feet, hopefully bare. |

Aw man, why did you have to go and cut her feet out? Superb image with the orange dress and green surroundings. She's a real cutie. |

She is definitely beautiful. I can see she might be a free thinker/independent. I like your composition here, but perhaps you could try zooming in to get a closer look at that face and still get the winding road in the background. NOt sure if you tried that or not. Just a thought. |

Like how this fits the theme, you'll probably get hacked on for not showing her feet, but seeing more of the long road beyond works for me; her expression shouts just you try'n stop me! |
