Yes, vodka and pickles go traditionally together. |

The drastic reduction in quality that this photo suffered looks like a classic resizing problem using nearest neighbor or some other similar size reduction algorithm. The good news that this is something that can be solved. If your graphics program has a "resample" mode when resizing then that should work better. If not then you could always try Paint Shop Pro (which is very good and shareware) or Photoshop Elements (which is even better IMO and veay cheap). |

Do vodka and Pickles go well together? I have never heard of such a thing.
Anyway this recent thread talked about resizing and compression. You might be interested in it, but it talks a lot about Photoshop. There are other threads for sure. |

Yes, this is vodka and pickles. Yeah, original image was ~5mb, so when I resized for submission it got grainy... |

Lots of compression artifacts. Grainy. Is that Vodka and Pickles? |

Hi, I'm not sure if you are the same fellow who submitted a yellow car for "transport" challenge, but if you are, then I really think you should get a better resizing/resampling software for your images. Your resize is too harsh and the lines are all jaggy. The photo is nice though, and the idea too. Hope this is allowed, coz I suggest you get IrfanView and use that for resampling/resize your photos. |
