These red blood cells tasted strangly good, you know, because they are actually just candy. :-)

I bought a few of these red candys and put them in a pan filled with water. I snapped away, then in photoshop I brought the curves down, contrast up, dodged and burned and then did an enormous unsharp mask. I also used the clone tool to get rid of a few specks on the pan and 'cells.' The big unsharp mask exposed a lot of detail that would not regularily be on red blood cells, but this is Hollywood and I my picture needed some interest. I then used Neat Image to get that nice soft 'explore the human body' look on the candy.

And oh yes, to avoid complaints, I did use the macro setting on my camera. :-)

was just passing on by and noticed this...
Candy...that's great. Joey, you're the only person that would have thought of that:-)

Well Joey, I am a big fan of yours!! This is very different! Like most all of your work, it is out of the box and unique. They still look like candy, but I really don't think that matters. I think what hurt this photo was that it was out of focus. I know that was what you were going for but IMO a macro should be focused. That is what is so great about macros is the attention to details. I like the negative space and your arrangement of the candy, very nice. The colors are a little harsh, but that is a reflection of your style that I am familiar with. I get that you wanted the "soft" look because of the title, but I think that the theme would have been better for a different challenge. Great ideas like always, you are so creative. I hope that this was helpful.

Are these really blood cells? Cause if they're not, they do really resemble them. Great lighting and shadows. Amazing really...

The composition is pretty good and I like the color palette. The focus on these sphereoids seems a little short of perfect and this seems a problem.

7 - Not sure what you used, but given the equipment, perhaps a sharper image if possible would have been better, even if it meant zooming out. Perhaps a touch up of contrast too or lighting.
