Hello, greetings from the Critique Club,

This is your first entry to DPChallenge, and you started out quite well. I am new to the Critique Club, so we're on equal footing :)

First impressions: Nice picture. When I look at the water, I almost can feel a little seasickness; in this case that's good! The border is very prominent.

Focus: Very good. Everything that needs to be in focus, is. DOF is great.

Lighting / Colour: Also good. The colours are "real". The whites are beautiful, as is the sky.

Composition: I like the white veranda/black tubes on the right hand side - they add to the picture, give it depth. IMHO, the photo might be more dynamic if water and sky weren't divided half and half; maybe a division in thirds would be better (1/3 sky, 2/3 water, or the other way around). I also wish the picture were slighly larger.

Border: The border is nicely done, but possibly it is a bit too heavy for the picture. It almost overpowers it, and makes it darker than needed. Also, to the bottom right hand, the border and the picture merge, making a black triangle - IMO it would be better if that weren't there.

Meeting the challenge: No problems.

Final opinion: I like the picture, it's a great first entry. I think we'll have to look out for you in the future :) Take care,

Ursula Abresch

I really like the boat, the foreground stuff on the right I think takes away too much from the boat.

Really perfect and life-like colors. The rail and piers really give the shot good balance.

Great focus! Personally, the thick outer border is a bit overpowering. Fantastic composition and color. Nicely done!

I like how the waves tips, the railing and the clouds all form a triange to lead the viewers eye to the ferry. Nice exposure and idea!

I think the fact that the border is black and this thick stifles the pic a little here.

Excellent shot. If you had taken off the outside black part of the border i think you would score higher. 8

Clear and bright. For some reason I particularly like the bits of the pier in the lower right.

The photo is great, the border is too big though.

The thick border is more distracting than it\'s worth.

Framing adds a lot to this photo -- good choice!
