| there's lot's of competition with this type of image, so the standards are pretty high. it looks like this rose is a bit past it's prime, with browning edges on the petals. The shot is out of focus a bit (or was it deliberately soft?) and the lighting is not very dynamic. Keep at it...if you don't have a DSLR it is very hard to do closeups and macros. |

| A little soft on the focus. Could use a boost of contrast to get the color to pop out better. Interesting perspective in a challenge full of simular shots. |

| Very nice colors on this shot. It almost appears as some kind of artistic filter has been used on this photo, which loses some of the detail. Good composition and subject choice. |

| IMHO the lighting is flat, needs more contrast. Also focus is a little to soft for my taste. |

| Beatiful colors. Nice shadowing and not harsh lighting, but the overall effect doesn't have the crisp detail I'm lookiung for in a macro. Maybe work on the sharpness a bit. |

| picture is a little soft so maybe a diffusion or something like that would have helped. I think the lighting is also a little flat. |
