I like it but not for the macro challenge

you need to get closer to your subject, and keep the subject in sharp focus when trying to achieve a macro, or "near-macro" photo. Try re-shooting this chain by getting in as close as your camera/lens will allow, and focus tightly on the most interesting part of the chain - perhaps where two links join together but also have contrast differences.

"Forgotten"? Seems you dun forgotten what a Macro is.

I think I would like this better if I could see the detail of the chain better. Brightly lit from behind, all I get is silhouette. Assuming you wanted the background, moving closer to the chain with some extra lighting on the front would give me more detail and better emphasis of the close up element of the photo. I fear many voters will give lower scores to this because it won't "feel" like a macro to them.

this one makes me think, but I don't quite get it. It seems a bit over-processed/sharpened on the chain. This is an intriguing photo, for sure, but leaves me wanting something to sink my teeth into (besides the chain)

Interesting use of blur.

Well, you'll probably be getting hammered ... "not a macro" ... "out of focus", blah, blah, blah. And indeed it is not a crystal clear image of a revoltingly coloured flower or an amusing insect. But at least you've got something to say about your subject. So, to help redress the balance, 8.

Maybe alittle more focus on the backround and not so much on the chain.

I really like the artistic and painted look and feel of this.

Nice composition. A little more depth of field would have been nice.

interesting idea but not really a macro. The photo seems to be a little over edited for my taste/liking. Nice idea tho. Good luck in this challenge. <3>

I'm not sure if this really fits the challenge..
