Fossilized echinoid from the Eocene Epoch (Tertiary Period). From my own personal collection, these little cuties are an estimated 55 to 34 million years old and were found in South East Tarrant County, (North)Texas.

interesting not sure whether I want an greater depth of field or not ... I would have liked the lighting to be a bit more dramatic.

Thanks to your title, I had to do some reseach. I certainly would not have seen rotten fruit as obsolete till then. Now I am enlightened and enjoy voting and envy your honor at seeing them.

looks like a cantoloupe or similar fruit...a google brings up something about fossils...so how to vote this one? On meeting challenge (with or without research), on technical quality (fine there) or aesthetic beauty (very little) or composition (moderately OK there). Hmm...
