FIRST IMPRESSION: Unusual composition, but that's a good thing. The staggering of the images works.
CHALLENGE: The challenge calls for two or three separate photographs, and this appears to be one photograph masked into three. While I personally feel this shot met the spirit (if not the letter) of the challenge, other voters may have been bothered by the relatively looks interpretation of the theme.
COMPOSITION: Your composition of the individual shots and the group as a whole is excellent Each of the individual shots could stand on its own (except maybe the third as there is nothing there to really hold the viewer's attention) but as a group they are even stronger.
TECHNICAL: All technical aspects are excellent and appropriate for the shots.
CONCLUSION: A very strong entry, one in which you took some chances, and those chances seemed to pay off. The loose interpretation of the challenge was probably the primary factor keeping your score below 6, but that does not take away from the fact that this is high-quality work that stands on its own.
Thanks for sharing and good luck in future challenges! |

Varying the middle image above the others for some reason does something good for this. I think it breaks it up, sorta adds a little impact to the image. Good luck. |

Very nice scene! Was this three shots or one separated? (It does NOT matter, just curious, I think it's one shot) Nice dramatic cloudy sky (is this somewhere on the Puget Sound? or otherwise near me?) The one crashing wave is nice, but the rest of the water seems a bit too calm (now, isn't that asking for the sun, moon and the stars....no score impact). The rocks on the lower left seem a bit dark (duh, it's a cloudy day....). 9 Rob the Swash |

I know I sound like a parrot - and am wary after the recent comments in forum about repetitive comments - but I'm not at all keen on the different heights of images used here. Also, to me this is one photo cut into three - nothing wrong with that at all - it's like looking through a bay window - but I'm personally keener on entries where there are three seperate images used - images that support each other but are different. Just my two pence though! |

I'm partial to shoreline images, having grown up near the coast around Pacifica, California. Looks like you've captured some weather heading in. Like the arrangement and continuity of the coastline. |

I really like this idea and it's very well executed. However, the challenge description clearly says 3 different photographs, while this is 1 photograph cut into 3. I would have also lightened this up a tad. Be proud and hang this on the wall cuz it's very nice! |
