This is one of the lowest tides of the year. The lowest is a -2.0, this is only a -1.7, but being that the tide is normally somewhere from 3 to 7, this is extremely low. The pools are created from the same kind of thing as a sand bar.

Editing: rotate, minor burn clouds, levels, minor healing, rotate horizon, size, usm.

Congrats on 16th! Can't believe the people who gave this 3s and 4s and 5s...insane.
It's a wonderful photo!

"Damned beach!" jejejeâ„¢

Really nice shot, zoomy. BTW, when I built boats, I used the abbreviation AMDG: Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, "To the greater glory of God" — Is not your SDG properly translated "For God's glory alone (or only)?"

Perhaps some of the most attractive lead lines. An expert capture.

I really love this shot. The water pools leading to the rocks are awesome, and I love the reflections in them. The sky is a great shade of blue. Great job!

Very cool shot! I love the patterns the water has made along the beach...nice to see some curvy lines :-)

Excellent point of view. I might have cropped out just a little bit of the bottom but, very nice. Looks like the Oregon coast.

Excellent framing and choice of subject. Sharpness looks to be good throughout the frame. The rocky outcrop on the right where the lines tend to lead my eye really serves as a point of interest. You did really well to identify the lines here and capture them so well.

Makes me so homesick. The rocks really stand out nicely, especially the one on the right, and the lines lead my eye right back there. For me, it feels like the image could be a little less bright.

beautifully balanced sets of threes:
3 lines in the sand (a 4th is present but not very noticeable)
3 dark lines in the clouds
3 rocks on beach near
3 rocks on beach far
your eye for harmony & glory sparks wonder within me

Beautiful setting and beautiful example of leading lines. Strong composition and colors. Good focus and DOF. At last, leading lines that actually lead someplace! One of my favorites this challenge. Best of luck in the voting.

Beautiful shot, but one that I think would work better with a bit more saturation and contrast. 7

Pretty. I don't think inclusion of all that sand helps the composition but I figure yu did it to get the 'lines' in there.
