 This is the only bridge of this type left in the world (The Bollman Truss semi-suspension bridge, put here in 1860). Guess I could use it for obsolete since it no longer has trains running over it. Some of you all might think this is a stretch for leading lines. I don't if I go by the challenge details!

This is the first time I have dodged or burned an image. There was sunlight (still apparent) falling across where I didn't want it to so I D&B to even out the wood tones. Also cropped, sharpened, etc.

ARGH!! Zoomdak is absolutely right. Sometimes in searching and finding the 'perfect' place, you forget other aspects of the image. Like a subject! I have already scheduled a return to this site for another bunch of images with - you guessed it - something in them. I love the bridge in and of its own but, really, take the person out of the first place image and what do you have? Mine. ;)

No one said anything about the odd crop. Hmmm....

I like the mixture of the rich wood tones and steel. The contrasty look to the greenery blends nicely with the bridge. Great shot.

I love the difference in texture between the wood and the metal in this shot! What a great bridge :-) Good job leading the eye into the back of the photo. Nice mood to this shot as well. Good lighting, clarity and all of that! Really like the composition.

Interesting juxaposition between the old wood walkway, and the newer metal structure. Your use of Gothic Glow/ soft focus(?) gives this a kinda surreal feeling.

Wow! This one pacts a punch! Not only do the wood lines focus you in but also the metal frame adds much depth to it as well. I'd also like to see this image tried with a person/some kind of focal point at the end of the walk. Awesome job though! Top ten.

Oh great... now I'm going to have that stupid "Over the River and through the woods, to grandmother's house we go" song in my head all night. Rest assured, I did not take any points off for that :). I like the way these lines converge. Good shot.

Leading lines or curves generally have two purposes. One is to lead the viewer into the scene. The other is to lead you toward the main subject. It is most effective if they come in from the lower left because that is the natural direction humans visually scan a picture from so are easiest to pick up.

Nice lines that make the viewer wonder what is on the trail beyond the bridge.

Very nicely done. The composition is great and the colors are fantastic. I like the dreaminess of the photo. The only thing I don't like is the red iron work. This walkway would look so much better without it. Did it used to be a railway bridge?
