I'm enjoying looking through people's portfolios. I've often started with a 5.5 score because it generally means promise that wasn't fulfilled. A few things grab me with this shot. First, you have found a nice leading line, but the problem is it doesn't lead to anywhere. If anything, it leads to that clump of bush which is very unexciting for us. I'm glad to see you used a polarizer. You may have wanted to try to saturated or darken the sky a bit more in processing. Sometimes you can set a new layer to multiply and then provide a gradient down the sky. That can look very nice. The gold does contrast nicely with the blue.

Thank you everyone for the helpful and kind comments. It would have helped if there some barnyard animal at the end of the fence but it just didn't happen. It was fun taking the picture though.

This is a good example of leading lines attempting to be the subject, but something here seems lacking to me. I think it's what Ansel Adams would call your 'bald headed sky'. A more dramatic (spelled cloudy) sky would make this a much better shot. Do I see a reshoot in the future?

one of my favorites... live the on cosmos(?) and the curve of your line. Lovely colors.

I think it would be really cool if you had somebody standing at the top of the hill, so the eye had a single point to focus on (could've you set the self timer and ran up there?). Minor: the nibbit of trees on the left is a tad distracting.

I feel that this could do with a little more sharpening.

My suggestion would be that maybe you should have taken the shot with less sky, especially since there were not any nice clouds or color on the day and time you took the picture. Maybe you could have also taken the shot a little lower, closer to the level of the fence, looking up the hill more to capture the grass and fence (less sky). It would have also allowed for you to capture more of the detail in the grass and old fence. Best of luck in the challenge. I hope you don't take the comments the wrong way.

I love this. It's so simple, but beautiful. The colors and soft grass just make you feel good to look at this.

Nice lines, however picture lacks depth and the sky is kind of uninteresting. Probably would have worked better in the early morning or evening when you could have shadows or maybe have had clouds.

Love this one. So simple. Maybe the sky could be a tad more blue. Otherwise, a great composition.
