Spoof of the famous "naked man in kettle" photo. Used to tripod to get around the nudity rule on DPC :P

Ah man... I didn't really follow the recent challenges, I apologize. But man! I just got to see that picture and it is pure genious. So simple yet the image renders a whole distorted view of what's really going on. Yours was also more classy and credible than the others on your thread about them on e-bay. Nice work. Creativety and simplicity, often gives the best results.

completely underrated image. Great composition, great clarity and depth, excellent tones. And, the teapot is SO shiny you can see your reflection. ;) Loved it - sorry it didn't do better. Didn't deserve the low scores it got.

BTW - love your profile image!

Again, I loved your sense of humor as well as your photographic expertise. Whether or not the masses "got it" or not... it was a delight. Thanks again for the chuckle.

Very funny Ben! I haven't been voting lately but it would have gotten at least a 7 from me. Can you post a link to the photo you are spoofing?

Looks like the folks either loved it or hated it. There certainly is a highly personal touch visible here, and the camera is SO big:-) Well done!

LOL! You get extra points for making me laugh... (please dont take that in a bad way).

You made an effort to make a liability (reflections) into an asset on this picture. You get an extra point for that.

Only things I find distracting is the carpet (I might have tried this with a different backdrop) and the extra items in the room.

Ok, I can look at this in a number of ways, but only one keeps coming back to me - this was unnecessary and in rather poor taste considering the challenge. Just my opinion.
06/22/2005 12:41:01 PM
This is sooo cool! Not sure an aunt should ever SEE this kind of picture of her nephew but... it's a clever, fun and well executed shot.
PS Your carpet is hideous! :oP

GREAT IDEA! I remember seeing both the kettle and TV auctions like this... not that I really wanted to... 9 for composition and creativity. My only gripe is the background (the *don't want to say carpet* floor)
