i think that the fact that her face is blotted out by the bubbles is incredibly effective. i completely agree with your choice here; i am also an artist before i am a photographer and i can really appreciate the meaning and movement in this shot.

this is an amazing and perfect shot...reminiscent of Zena Holloway's underwater shots. I believe the bubbles and no face ADDS to this composition.
Zena has a website you should look at (if you have not already): zenaholloway.com

Absolutely love this work of art... I am starting to aquire an interest in photography... I like you think of the art first... My problem is I have many many ideas for a capture of beauty but alas I have nothing but a crappy cheap digital camera and no resources to do so... I hope to some day take a picture like this one... Excellent work |

Very Howard Schatz - a great nude! |

A fascinating and daring twist on the challenge theme. B&W works well, particularly with the dark scarf. Mid-tones are excellent and contrast is OK. Profile pose captured well.
Nudity will probably be thought gratuitous by some voters though it certainly is not even in this case. This is a tasteful and well captured image. It does not look like it has excessive electronic noise.
Technically it is slightly overexposed (pun unintended) on the upper leg, upper chest and top of the face of your model. You might consider a little darkening applied in those areas.
The bubbles around your model's head obscures the face. It would score better if viewers could see a facial expression to know what she is thinking.
It is a good concept and capture and should score higher than it probably will. Good job! |

If she could have waited just a few seconds to clear the bubbles from around her face, would make it better. |

This is definately VERY unique. It could have been a very beautiful photo if the background was different, and there weren't bubbles by her face...but considering how hard this must have been, I think you you really pulled it off. good luck |

This is a very nice image, the only thing maybe, I'd like to see a bit space more at the bottom...showing her right leg entirely...Great capture in any case! :) |

Simply love the colors and lighting!
Only wish would've been for a no bubbles shot but it doesn't take anything from the shot. |

Very pretty shot. The bubbles and the subtle color really give this image a surreal look. Excellent job. |

One of my favorite images in the challenge...the light is so soft...muted and subtle...how the black fabric seems to be drifting around in the water is completely magical...the flesh looks as though it were made of alabaster...if this does not ribbon I will be very upset indeed! |

This is a really gorgeous pic. It looks as though it should be in a book of fine art photography. I love the subdued colors in it. |

I love underwater shots! This is truly beautiful. The only thing that would make it better would be if I could see the face, perhaps a sly smile. Otherwise, just gorgeous! |

This would do MUCH better if her head was completely under water and she appeared as if she didn't need to breathe. As it is, this is just an earth woman in a whacky swim suit. Nice change, though, to have an underwater pic!!! |

|
06/20/2005 06:20:05 PM |
I love this pic, wish I could she more of the profile of her face maybe cropped a little much at the top too. I still think this is top 10 material! |

WOW this is a great picture!!! |

|

Wow, if the head was completely submerged this would be awesome. Love the idea. |

The photo itself is not extraordinary (of course it must have been diffucult to shoot underwater).
However, there is something really nice with this picture: it brings the viewer into a different universe. This is probably the shot that fits the challenge the more closely. |

Original and creative. Wish the crop was not as tight on ankle and head. Black and white works well for this image. Flowing netting adds a great counterpoint to the nude. |
|
|

Very nice line...both with the model and the black netting. Like it very much. Wish the lighting was as spectacular as the form, but even so, nice shot. |

I am not sure what it is about this picture, but it just catches me the wrong way. Trying to relate it to the title, I come up empty as to your intention - the planet or the goddess? Not sure the nudity was appropriate either. Didn't knock you for it, but just seems it was not needed. |

This one just has to score highly. Not quite a 10 because of the cropped foot, but otherwise one of my top picks |
|
|
06/19/2005 11:25:32 PM |
this is afantastic image, my only concern is that the crop is too tight IMO.9 |

|
06/19/2005 08:16:08 PM |
That's a gorgeous photo. Love the desaturated look for this. The bubbles to me are the only distracting element but maybe that was done on purpose to hide the face?? In any case, nice photo. |
