Hi there, I like your subject, I am sure it was very hard to photograph.
It has already been said, but the softness of this is the main distraction. Does your camera have manual focus? did you try manually focusing? it could be that the camera focused on the glass and not the jelly fish.
I like the lighting, no need to change it.
Compositionally, I think a vertical format would have been better, my eye is used to seeing jelly fish this way with their long tenticals.
Great subject for the Fauna challenge, good title too, definately has a mood to it. Good luck in future challenges.

thanks so much for the comments. I was a bit limited by both my equipment, which seems to love soft focus on everything! and the fact that I couldn't exactly pick the lighting on these guys. If I had seen indigo's jellyfish before I submitted this, I probably wouldn't have! :) I tried to play with levels, etc, but there just wasn't the info there to bring these guys out.

I like the way they seem to be playing with each other. I wish they were more clearly defined, but I guess that's the 'nature of the nature.'

Beautiful colours and abstract.

These guys are a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the lighting here wasn't the best and your focus is soft. I think you could've made them a little more visible with some level adjustments.

good job

A sharper focus would probably help here.

THe blue is really tranqill, it makes the jellyfish? look almost invisible. Most of the entries do not reflect the theme of Fauna but i think this one does because it shows the animal in its true environment

A little different lighting would have helped emphasize the outlines of these jellyfish - right now they just sort of blend into the blue of the water.

I love the jellies...

Brave shot! They don't seem to be in focus - though perhpas they're actually like that. Whatever - it looks out of focus.

Great color. I wish I could see the jelly fish more
