 I realize this ugly little bird may turn off some voters, but with the animal choices I had, I wanted to shoot something a little different, a bit of a challenge and I definitely didn’t want any “cute” votes. Getting this close to the turkey was certainly a humourous challenge; I had to contend with a rather enamored male turkey that took my presence as competition. In the end I was only able to get 3 shots, before the male herded the female away and aimed a few pecks my way.

And Ben Franklin wanted this to be the National Bird of the USA. Ouch! Like the tight crop on this shot - focus could have been better.

Nicely shot, but that is one UGLY bird! Lighting from behind works very well, in my opinion.
