I'm surprized it didn't get a higher placement. I gave it a 9. Congrats anyway. |

Sorry about my lame english but what is tar? is it suppose to be tear?
anyway I think it's a great one. I love the tones, the focus, the very very soft light, the feel of darkness in many senses.
A photo that gives me a good and positive feel of darkness. Not a sad and painful one.
I love it! |

In general it is an appealing image. The addition of the water drop is nice. brown tones are good.
You can't get rid of these because it is a basic challenge but the tiny white specks throughout the image is a major distraction in this composition and will hurt it's overall score. |

i really like the picture, though i'm not quite sure what darkness means to you from this picture, it seems more visceral and less conceptual, but i kind of like that. if you have some sort of deeper meaning i'd be interested to know what it is |

i like the shot, i do not like the frame. I have seen this a lot on this challenge. I think your photo should stand on it's own without a frame. don't you think this photo does? i do. |

This reminds me of an image I have seen here already. Even though your picture is dark, it doesn't suggest darkness to me. I'm sure it does to you, so that doesn't affect my voting. Technically it's excellent, the lighting is very soft and I like how you narrowed down the areas that reflect it. 8. |

Goregous! The lighting is perfect, the composition is unique, and the subtle colors are a joy. I would love to see this image ribbon. |

Oh this is so spectacular in its simplicity. Love the light on the quill and the single drop of "tar." VERY GOOD. |
