Centered is bad. Look up rule of thirds. Also noon sun is bad. To much shadow on her face. Nice attempt, good luck next time. |

I like how both horse and rider seem to be counting-off the steps to the next fence. |

I grew up on horses, so I have a definite connection with this picture--I wonder if the mood could have been enhanced even more with a broader side angle to keep (wo) man and beast from being so straigh on and centered in the frame? Plus a little DOP to really bring the main subjects out. |

A lot going on for what at first appears to be a simple photograph. I would have liked to see a little better focus on the riders face. |

Since the rider and the horse are both looking to the right, it might have been good to have them further left in the frame. That would have also prevented the background horse from being cropped in half. |

Too bad she wasn't turned toward the sun, her face is obsured by shadow. Otherwise, good composition, color, focus, almost great! Photo 9 Creativity 7 People 9 total 9 |

Place the subject on the left side of the frame. It would look much better. |

Poor lighting. Get closer to your subject. The facial expression is lost. Use that zoom! |

very nice, but i can't help wondering what the rider looking at...is she preparing for a conformation class or a jumping class? guess there's not much you could do to show prep for a conformation class except to show her watching an ongoing one perhaps....if it's a jumping class, showing the hurdles or another horse/rider (in the background of course) taking them would help me, the viewer, get a better feel for what she is mentally preparing for |

Nice shot! I think the light on the rider's shirt is a little harsh.. I don't know if you have the capability or not, but a polarizing filter helps in this situation... Also using a smaller aperture setting can help out as well... good job! |

Beautiful horse. Face needs fill flash. |

it probably would be better to take the photo in straigt to see the entire horse because the background seem distracting. |

This shot is well done. Good composition, good shot. Maybe a tad too dark on the horse and a bit hot on the shirt. Still this is very good work. Congrats. |

Maybe brighten it up a bit to pick up the faces. |

Nice photo. I may have cropped in on the subject closer since you don't need the background to tell the story here, but it's still a pleasing shot. |

I wish you'd given the horse more head room (less vacant space on the left - more on the right). But I don't know what you cut out. I like the way both of their heads are facing the same direction as if they are both preparing. |
